Construction Supervision

Summary from Contractor

Main Tunnel and Evacuation Tunnel excavation was completely finished.

Bench excavation was completed to the contract limit at Sta. 2+397.825 then continued for PKIA and finished by 12 December 2003. Total 85.9m excavated on East side and 75.3m excavated on West side.

Tunnel lining continued with 114.5m of main tunnel, 31m of layby completed.

PKIB contractor managed to improve progress of the side drain and cable duct/trough. During December zone M. N & O were completed and handed over to PK4 contractor to commence fire main installation works.

- 85.9m on East side from Sta. 2+579.5 to 2+655.4 and 75.3m on West side between Sta. 2+587.8 to 2+663.1

Tunnel Lining

Concrete for Tunnel Lining

- 114.5m (10 blocks) from St. 2+283.325 to Sta. 2+397.825 and Layby lining 31m (5 blocks) completed

Backfill grouting for concrete lining from block No. 165 to block No. 167

Quantity cement: 450 kg

Repair of defect concrete lining from block No. 155 to block No. 167

Installation of mole drainpipe 94.5 m

Installation of waterproofing membrane 90 m

Placement of concrete for side drain

461m (East side)

249.9m (West side)

Placement of concrete for cable duct - (East side) 283.9m and cable trough - (West side) 117.1m

Placement of concrete for construction of centre drain 564.2m

Evacuation Tunnel

Excavation completely finished, construction of cut and cover section continued.
