Construction Supervision

Summary from Contractor

Main Tunnel breakthrough ceremony was held on 7th November 2003, Evacuation Tunnel excavation was completely finished by 30 November 2003.

Bench excavation was completed to the contract limit at Sta. 2+397.825 then continued for PKIA and expected to finish by 10th December 2003. Total 155.2m excavated on East side and 163.1m excavated on West side.

Tunnel lining continued with 49m of main tunnel, 31m of layby completed.

Electrostatic Precipitator No. 3 is completed and for handed over to PK4 by 1st November 2003.

Start excavation of EP No. 2 up to 30th November 2003, giving a total length of 78.8m from Sta. 0+111.6 to 0+153.1.

PKIB contractor managed to improve progress of the side drain and cable duct/trough. During October zone P was completed and handed over to PK4 contractor to commence fire main installation works.

Concrete for Foundation Beam -91.8m Fr. St. 2+306 to Sta. 2+397.8 (West Side)

Concrete for Foundation Beam -125.7m Fr. St. 2+272.1 to Sta. 2+379.8 (East Side)

Total quantity 112 m3

Concrete for Foundation Beam completed.

Concrete for Tunnel Lining - 49m (4 blocks) from St. 2+203.325 to Sta. 2+252.325 and Layby lining 31m (5 blocks)

Total quantity 1228m3

Installation of mole drain 94.5m

Installation of waterproof membrane 90m

Placement of concrete for side drain

443.6m (West side)

Placement of concrete for cable duct - (East side) 295.9m and cable trough - (West side) 552.9m

Evacuation Tunnel

A total of 68.4m of Evacuation Tunnel was completely finished excavated from St. 2+792.7 to Sta. 2+861.1 over the reporting period. Giving a total length of 2861.1m of tunnel excavated to date.
