Progress Report > Package III - Electrical Works
The Contractor continued with electrical works installations in North and South Toll Plaza buildings but at a very slow pace. These are the only site works under this contract at this time while waiting to install the earthing grid in EP2 and the adit connection substation. The majority of work at site is the preparation and submittal of manufacturer's materials and installation shop drawings. PKIII has participated in the hand over of sections of walkways in the tunnel from the civil contractors. The hand over allows PKIII (and PKIV) access to install conduit in the trench under the walkways. Coordination is ongoing between PKIII and PKIV for space, ventilation and cableway requirements at substations in the Electrostatic Precipitator areas (S/S 1, 2 and 4) and at the Ventilation Adit Building (S/S 6), S/S 3 at adit fresh air discharge near tunnel. Generally most significant issues have been resolved between PKIII and PKIV in those areas. However the size of UPS battery rooms is still to be confirmed following Contractor identification of the fact that he had sized batteries to 30 minutes duration instead of Addendum No. 1 requirements. This issue should be resolved in early December. The final shape and size of S/S # 5 was agreed and design modification of PK1A building contract drawings carried out in-house. The Contractor continued to submit manufacturer's capability/certification materials and technical data for approval as suppliers of major systems and subsystems.
