Construction Supervision

Summary

Bridge No.2: 1 Abutment and 9 piers were completed such as North Abutment, P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7, P8, P9. 1 Abutment  was under construction such as South Abutment. 48 nos. of girder were finished production at casting yard near by north abutment and remain 2 nos. 8 spans of launching and 8 spans of deck slab were completed. Total activities completion was 86%. Progress of construction will be finished at date end  of November 2003.

Bridge No.3: South Abutment and North Abutment completed the concrete works. 5 nos. of 5 girder were finished the production at casting yard near by South Abutment. Total activities completion was 60%.

Bridge No.4: All sub-structures were completed for concrete work. All launching work and deck slabs have been completed and remaining expansion joints. Total activities completion was 98%.

Bridge No.5: All sub-structures were completed for concrete work. 20 nos. of PCI girders were finished the production and nothing remained. 4 spans of launching and 2 spans of deck slab were completed. Total activities completion was 81%. Progress of construction will be finished at November 20 2003.

Bridge No.6: All sub-structures were completed for concrete work. 25 nos. of 25 girders were finished the production. 4 spans of  launching  were completed. Total activities completion was 58%. Total progress was 30 days behind from the expected finishing date end of December 2003.

Bridge No.7: All sub-structures were completed for concrete work. 20 nos. of PCI girders were finished the production and nothing remained. All launching work completed. 2 spans of deck slab were completed. Total activities completion was 68%. Progress of construction will be finished at November 30 2003.

Bridge No.2

Substructure

North abutment was completed the concrete works. Pier No.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 were completed of concrete works up to cross head. South abutment was under the construction of concrete works.

Superstructure

Span 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 were completed the slab concrete and span 8 was completed the launching

Girder Production

48 nos. of girder were produced at casting yard near by north abutment.

Bridge No.3

North Abutment, South Abutment were completed the concrete works. 5 nos. of girder were produced at casting yard near by north abutment

Bridge No.4

Substructure

All sub-structures were completed for concrete work.

Superstructure

All sub-structures were completed for concrete work. All launching work and deck slabs were completed and remaining expansion joint

Bridge No.5

Substructure

All sub-structure was completed for concrete work.

Superstructure

All spans were completed the launching. Diaphram of all spans  was completed. Span 3, 4 were finished the slab concrete

Girder Production

20 nos. of 20 girders is finished production.

Bridge No.6

Substructure

All sub-structures were completed for concrete work.

Superstructure

Span 1, 2, 3, 4 were finished the launching.

Girder Production

25 no. of 25 girders were finished the production at girder production yard.

Bridge No.7

Substructure

All sub-structures were completed for concrete work.

Superstructure

All Spans were finished the launching. Span 3, 4 were finished the slab concrete.

Girder Production

All of girder 20 nos. were finished the production

Road Works

Clearing and grubbing:

All clearing and grubbing area were completed

Earthworks

Excavation work was under construction and 620,156 m3 of 659,000m3 was completed. Embankment work  was under construction and 118,486 m3 of 121,218 m3 was completed. Percent completion of excavation i+860- Km8+895s 94.1% and embankment 97.7%.

Most of the excavation sections were excavated. Generally, excavation work was late. The Contractor should be speed-up of work progress.

Embankment work was carried out at KM8+125 - KM8+195, Km9+596- Km9+678.

Embankment at KM8+860 – KM9+200 completed

Pavement:

Production of aggregate subbase and base were at yard, up to now layer subbase at Km11+00 – Km11+480 and Km0+764.97 – Km1+754.95 (connection road from southern Hai Van tunnel portal to national Highway No1) were completed. Completed aggregate subbase quantity was about 36.9%.

Retainning:

Retaining wall at the back of southern abutment bridge No3 and southern abutment bridge No4 were completed 100%. 

Culvert work:

- Box culvert at KM9+115: Concrete work for body has completed.

- Under pass at KM11+260: Until now concrete work has completed.

- Pipe culvert at KM11+050: Has completed.

- Pipe culvert at KM11+290: Has completed.

- Pipe culvert at KM11+660 has been not started yet
