Construction Supervision

Summary

Main Tunnel top heading and Evacuation tunnel to contract limit @ 5+500 is complete (100%).  PKIB continue excavation beyond Sta. 5+500 as subcontractor to PKIA contractor.

During the reporting period 94.9m of Evacuation Tunnel and 132.8m of Main Tunnel Top Heading was excavated, giving a total length of 2570.3m of Evacuation Tunnel and 2665.6m of Main Tunnel Top Heading excavated to date.

Bench excavation continued with 45.2m being excavated on the West Side and 93.2m excavated on the East Side.

Tunnel lining continued with 160.8m of main tunnel, 43.4m of layby and 40.9m of Electrostatic Precipitator completed.  The lining of the EP is now 100% completed.

Work continued on the Evacuation Tunnel cut and cover section, concrete arch completed.

Overall a reasonable months progress, slightly up in the main tunnel excavation, but down around 20% in the Evacuation Tunnel.

Main Tunnel

A total of 132.8m of Main Tunnel Top Heading was excavated over the reporting period, giving a total length of 2665.6m of Main Tunnel Top Heading excavated to date.

Poured 338m3 on type B concrete for tunnel arch.
