Construction Supervision

Summary

During the reporting period 96.1m of Evacuation Tunnel and 136.1m of Main Tunnel Top Heading was excavated, giving a total length of 2475.4m of Evacuation Tunnel and 2532.8m of Main Tunnel Top Heading excavated to date.

Bench excavation continued with 136.1m being excavated on the West Side and 256.4m excavated on the East Side.

Tunnel lining continued with 42.3m of main tunnel, 43.4m of layby and 69.5m of Electrostatic Precipitator completed.

Work continued on the Evacuation Tunnel cut and cover section.

Overall a good months progress, slightly up in the main tunnel excavation, but down around 20% in the Evacuation Tunnel.

Package IB has now passed the PKIA/IB boundary and Dong Ah – Song Da JV continue to excavate as a subcontractor for Package IA.

Main Tunnel

A total of 136.1m of Main Tunnel Top Heading was excavated over the reporting period, giving a total length of 2532.8m of Main Tunnel Top Heading excavated to date.

Bench excavation     

– 172m of bench excavated from St. 2+012 to St. 2+184 (West side)

– 84.4m of bench excavated from St. 1+905.6 to St. 1+1990 and 126.5m from St. 2+007.3 to St. 2+133.8 (East side)

The large geological overbreak between St. 2+119.5 and St. 2+124.5 was backfilled with concrete.
