110/22 kV Substation Foundation works is under construction. Power transformers already manufactured and tested.
110 kV Transmission Line Survey finished. Design for tower & foundation is on progress.

Construction Supervision

At the beginning of August 2002, lean concrete bases for OCC building foundations completed. On August 4, 2002: concrete work of foundation started. On August 17, 2002: all foundation completed, including pillars to bottom of underground beam level -0.250m. Due to the heavy rain, the backfill of the foundations could not start until August 25, 2002. Earthing and perimeter brick works beneath level -0.250m started on August 26, 2002.

The Contractor submitted a master imported list to the Engineer on August 9, 2002 together with a request for certified copies of exemption certificates from customs tariffs, import duties and taxes.

Physical Progress in this month

- Excavation for 110k substation and OCC building completed.

- Pillar foundations completed

- Backfill sand has been approved by Engineer.

- Masonry brick has been approved by Engineer.

- Earthing material and calculation has been approved.

- Backfill work to level No.1 commenced

- Earthing work for earthing grid beneath ground level.

- Brick work to perimeter of substation building commenced.

- Physical Progress of Contractor Package V is shown in the Appendix V-6.

Activities for Coming Months

Permanent Works

- Finalize the foundation pillars

- Install the deep earth electrodes and pillar riser electrodes.

- Backfill the foundation base to the level for base of cable trenches.

- Installation of sub-foundation earthing grid.
