Construction Supervision

Summary 

Bored Piling

Pier 7, Pier 8, Pier 9, Pier 10, Pier 11, Pier 12, Pier 13, Pier 14, Pier 15, Pier 17, Pier 18, Pier 19, Pier 21, Pier 22, Pier 23 and Pier 24 are completed bored piling.
Total 159 nos. of bored piling are completed up to present.
Pier 16 and Abutment 2 are under construction of bored piling

 

Substructure

Pier 7, Pier 14, Pier 17 Pier 18, Pier 22 and Pier 23 have been completed concrete works up to cross head.
Pier 8, Pier 9, and Pier No.24 are under construction of substructure.

Superstructure
Superstructure is not commenced yet.

Approach Road
Approach Road road is under construction and South approach road is finished embankment.

Girder Production
Two places of girder production yard P19 and A2 are under operation.

41 nos. of girders are completed of production.

Permanent Works

  • Bored Piling:

Six bored piling machines R-9G, TRC, GPS, ED5500 and Bauer are mobilized to the site, and under the condition of operation.

Pier No.7: 8 of 8 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No.8: 8 of 8 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No.9: 10 of 10 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No.10: 9 of 9 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No.11: 9 of 9 nos. of bored pile were completed.

Pier No. 12: 12 of 12 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No.13: 9 of 9 nos of bored piles were competed.

Pier No. 14: 10 of 10 nos. of bored piles were finished and continued the piling work.

Pier No.15: 5 of 12 nos of the bored piles were finished and continued the pilling work.

Pier No.16: 1 of 10 nos. of bored piles were finished and continued the piling work.

Pier No. 17: 10 of 10 nos of bored piles were completed. Additional pile No.7’ was constructed as the pile No.7 was rejected due to the result of working record and sonic test.

Pier No.18: 12 of 12 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No.19: 10 of 10 nos. of bored piles have been completed but No.6 pile is waiting for sonic test for approval as this pile had trouble at the concrete pouring time.

Pier No. 21: 12 of 12 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No. 22: 9 of 9 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No. 23: 9 of 9 nos. of bored piles were completed.

Pier No. 24: 3 of 6 nos. of bored piles finished and the piling work is continued.

  • Substructure:

Pier No.7: Sheet piling work has finished and excavation has commenced.

Pier No.8: Sheet piling work has commenced.

Pier No.14: Concrete Work were completed up to cross head.

Pier No.17: Concrete Work were completed up to cross head.

Pier No.18: Concrete Work were completed up to cross head.

Pier No.21: Excavation Work has commenced.

Pier No.22: Footing concrete was completed and the concrete work will be continued for column.

Pier No.23: Footing concrete were completed and continue the concrete work for column.

  • Superstructure:

Superstructure work is not commenced yet.

  • Approach Road

North approach road is finished embankment up to 50,000m3

The embankment of South Approach Road were finished up to 1000m3.

  • Girder Production

Production yard P19: 30 nos. of girder were finished production and will continued.

Production yard A2: 4 nos. of girder were finished the production and will continued.

  • Schedule overview

Total schedule is 143 days behind at end of September 2002 based on the Clause 14.1 schedule. Three critical paths are running on the schedule now.

CP-1: North approach - A1 - P1 - P2 - Lauching from A1 is 143 days behind at the end of September 2002.

CP-2: P3 - P4 - P5 - P6 is 46 days behind.

CP-3: P24 - A2 - P25 - Lauching from A2 is 83 days behind.

Activities on the CP1 has no action at this moment, therefore shedule is delaying day by day. There is potential to delay more in future. Counter measure for this critical path is required urgently.

P24 of CP3 has met boulders during pile driving time and it tales more times than expected.

This critical path has also potential to dalay. We are close watching about the progress.

Construction methos of Pier No.1 to Pier No.6 has decided to back  to floating method or jetty method with considering of environmental conditions.

Activities for Coming Months

  • Permanent Works:

- Construction of piers and abutment.

- Construction of girders.

- Construction of embankment.
