Two bidding packages of work on the Hai Van Tunnel project in central Vietnam have been completed and approved by the project's management board.

The two packages cover the construction of seven bridges and access roads in the tunnel's northern and southern parts.

The Hai Van Tunnel will be put into trial operation in May this year, after the building of the US$251mil tunnel started in August 2000.
